News Release

AISIN Corporation and AISIN AUTOMOTIVE HARYANA PRIVATE LIMITED (Haryana, India; hereinafter, “AHL”), a consolidated subsidiary in India, have decided to expand AHL’s existing plant and build a new plant in Maharashtra with the aim of expanding business in India, a rapidly growing market. The total investment amount will be approximately 32 billion yen.

Since the commencement of production of body products in India in the 1990s, AISIN has strengthened its production system in line with market trends and customer needs. Currently, the company produces, develops, and sells various products, including brakes and sensors, in addition to body products, at four bases*1 in India. In March 2025, production of eAxle, the key component of electric vehicles, began.
With India’s auto market expected to grow steadily into the future, demand has been shifting from manual-transmission vehicles, which have been the mainstream, to automatic-transmission vehicles. Accordingly, there has been even greater need for local production of automatic transmissions.*2 Against this backdrop, it was decided to expand AHL’s existing plant and build a new plant in Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, in an effort to localize production of automatic transmissions and create future opportunities. Operations in the expanded area of the existing plant and the new plant are both scheduled to begin in 2029.

AISIN remains committed to fulfilling the Group Philosophy “Inspiring ‘movement,’ creating tomorrow” in pursuit of sustainable growth on a global scale while deepening its relationships in each region.
