Relations with Stakeholders

Employee Rleations / Safety and Health

The “promotion of safety and health activities” and “creating a comfortable working environment” are two key thrusts being undertaken to realize a safe and healthy working environment.

Safety and Health Activities

At AISIN, every employee works on improving levels of safety in the workplace under the leadership of managers and supervisors, with the aim of reducing risks, as well as complying with related laws and regulations. As a result, the rate of occupational accidents (the rate of work injury-related time off) has been considerably lower than the industry average in Japan.

AISIN also introduced a lockout system* to prevent the occurrence of disasters that could potentially effect large-scale equipment.

*Lockout System

A mechanism that has all people in the facility lock the equipment in shutdown state when the operation of the facility is stopped due to an inspection or other reason, and prevents resumption of operation until all people have exited the facility. This results in preventing an accident due to operational error by a third party.

Expanded Installation of Lockout System

By the end of fiscal 2007, the introduction of lockout systems had been completed for 2,996 units of existing large-scale equipment (3,634 locations).
We are also introducing the system at newly constructed facilities.

Creating a Comfortable Work Climate

In order to create a work climate in which employees feel comfortable and at ease, AISIN is providing a number of training programs targeting managers and supervisors. These include training in managing work hours as well as training in the prevention of sexual and power harassment.

Measures to Promote Mental Health

In promoting mental health, we are constantly striving to create an environment in which employees can readily seek help for any troubles or concerns. Along with establishing a Mental Health Counseling Office staffed by counseling specialists, AISIN also provides training in listening skills to all employees above the rank of section leader so that they will be better able to listen to their subordinates.

For more than 20 years, training has been provided to more than 2,500 people in total as part of our efforts toward prevention or the early detection of any mental health issues.

Further, AISIN implements periodic mental health surveys on an organizational level, using the results to conduct various activities directed toward improving the workplace.
