The voice recognition system YYSystem¹, offered by AISIN CORPORATION, has won at the World Summit Awards 2024.

The World Summit Awards (WSA) are an international awards program established in 2003 within the framework of the World Summit on the Information Society held by the United Nations, and it recognizes outstanding projects that address social issues through digital content and innovative applications.

In 2024, 931 entries were received from around the world, of which 40 were selected for the World Summit Awards 2024. YYSystem was awarded in the Inclusion & Empowerment category, which selects projects in the areas of diversity and gender.

YYSystem was selected for the award in recognition of its contribution to solving social issues by effectively helping individuals with hearing impairments through co-creation with users and the use of AI. YYSystem is the seventh winner from Japan in the WSA’s over 20-year history.

The award ceremony will take place during the WSA Global Congress 2025, which is to be held from April 6 to 9, 2025.

YYSystem is a series of applications that provide communication support primarily for people with hearing impairments, based on a unique algorithm at the core that visualizes voices and sounds. In addition to its high voice recognition performance even in noisy environments, its unique feature is the ability to convey not only the voice and words but also the atmosphere of the conversation, helping to create a society in which people with hearing impairments can communicate conveniently and with confidence.
In addition, YYSystem has a real-time translation function that supports 31 languages² and is used to support people with hearing impairments faced with communication needs overseas, as well as to support communication with foreigners at hotels and train stations, which are receiving an increasing number of foreign visitors.
