Report No. 1 on damage caused by the 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake

We would like to extend our most heartfelt sympathy and condolences to all those who have suffered from the 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake that recently occurred on Japan's northernmost major island in the early hours of September 6. The impact on the operations of Aisin Seiki and our subsidiaries in the Hokkaido region is as follows.
1. Manufacturing bases of Aisin Seiki and subsidiaries in the Hokkaido region
Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. Anjo Plant, Noboribetsu Branch (referred to below as Noboribetsu Branch)

Business Activities: Manufacturing of Peltier modules
Aisin Hokkaido Co., Ltd. (referred to below as AIH)
Address: 32-5 Kashiwabara, Tomakomai, Hokkaido (in Tomatoh Industrial Area)
Number of Employees: 453 (as of September 6, 2018)
Business Activities: Manufacture and sale of aluminum cast parts for automobiles (valve body, timing chain case, rear case, water pump)
Capital Ratio: Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. 100%
CVTEC Hokkaido Co., Ltd. (referred to below as CVTEC-H)
Address: 145-1, Yufutsu, Tomakomai, Hokkaido (on premises of Toyota Motor Hokkaido, Inc.)
Number of Employees: 235 (as of September 6, 2018)
Business Activities: Manufacture and sales of metal belts for automotive continuously variable transmissions (CVT)
Capital Ratio: CVTEC Co., Ltd. 100%
2. Status of damage
<Safety status of employees>
Noboribetsu Branch: The safety of all 55 employees has been verified.
Aisin Hokkaido Co., Ltd.: The safety of all 453 employees has been verified.
CVTEC Hokkaido Co., Ltd.: The safety of all 235 employees has been verified.
*In addition, the safety of all employees at Group branches, offices, etc. in Hokkaido has been verified.
<Impact on buildings and equipment>
Noboribetsu Branch: No significant damage such as collapse of buildings.
Aisin Hokkaido Co., Ltd.: No significant damage such as collapse of buildings.
CVTEC Hokkaido Co., Ltd.: No significant damage such as collapse of buildings.
3. Status of manufacturing operations
Manufacturing operations at Noboribetsu Branch, AIH, and CVTEC-H are suspended because employees were evacuated immediately after the earthquake for safety reasons. Resumption of operations remains unscheduled at this time.
