Aisin Seiki Relocates and Expands Advanced R&D Facility in Tokyo Region
Apr. 4, 2017
News Release
Aisin Seiki has opened "Daiba Development Center", as a center for cutting-edge technology development, research and public relations, in the Tokyo waterfront district that is drawing increasing attention ahead of the upcoming Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
We are pursuing technology development around the world, with three locations in Japan including this one (Head Office, Tokyo, and Kyushu), and six overseas locations (North America, Europe, China, India, Thailand and Brazil).
In Tokyo, we have primarily been developing element technologies for semiconductors at an office in Minato-ku. However, we have relocated and expanded the existing office to Odaiba, in the Tokyo Bay area, aiming to think outside of the box and create new value so as to respond swiftly to changes in the automotive industry environment.
At the Daiba Development Center, we will develop core technologies for artificial intelligence (AI), which can contribute to innovations in work styles at plants and administrative departments, in addition to applications to Zero Emissions, Automated Driving and Connected Cars in the growing next-generation field. In the future, the new center will serve as a base for algorithm development employing AI and hardware development to put these innovations into practice. We will start with 50 employees, with plans to increase the number to about 100 in the future.
