Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. and six Aisin Group companies will jointly participate in the "Automotive Engineering Exposition 2015" to be held at Pacifico Yokohama (located in Nishi-ku, Yokohama) from May 20 (Wed.) to May 22 (Fri.), 2015.

At this exposition, Aisin will introduce the direction of the Aisin Group's technological development in the fields of "Fuel Efficiency," "Safety," and "Comfort and Convenience" that are oriented "for a prosperous and happy future."

For example, in the field of "Fuel Efficiency," Aisin is working on technological development with the goal of heightening the effect of fuel efficiency improvement when mounting group products on vehicles, by 20% in 2020 and 30% in 2025 compared to the 2012 level. As part of achieving this goal, Aisin will introduce specific challenges for the next decade focusing on five approaches including the "enhancement of power-train efficiency" and "thermal management." Visitors will see the challenges that the Aisin Group is making to meet future needs, as well as the exhibits of system products for hybrid vehicles and exhibits of a variety of transmissions.

In addition, Aisin will exhibit for the first time the latest "Parking Assist System" that detects parking spaces using an ultrasonic sensor and a camera to assist drivers when parking and exiting garages, an "Electric Parking Drum Brake" that is the world's first drum brake with an electric parking mechanism, and a "Air Valve Module" for fuel-cell vehicles.

Moving forward, the Aisin Group will continue to research and develop products and technologies for a prosperous and happy future of a mobile society.

Description

Technology for Hybrid Vehicles

Aisin introduces systems products for hybrid vehicles, including hybrid transmissions and generative-friction brake coordination system.

High Torque Capacity FWD 8-Speed
Automatic Transmission

This FWD 8-speed automatic transmission provides low fuel consumption and excellent acceleration.

High Torque Capacity FWD 6-Speed
Manual Transmission

The FWD 6-speed manual transmission offers low-noise and low-vibration transmission, as well as a light shift feeling.

Regenerative Cooperation Braking System

Equipped with an exceedingly quiet gear pump, this ESC unit achieves low-pulsation and low-vibration generative-friction brake coordination.

Parking Assist System

Equipped with an ultrasonic sensor and camera, this system detects obstacles around the vehicle. It also has a forward guide function and steering assist function for turning the wheel when parking and exiting garages.

Electric Parking Drum Brake (First-time Exhibit)

A built-in compact actuator allows mounting on light vehicles in a limited mounting space.

Air Valve Module (First-time Exhibit)

Properly controls intake and exhaust air to start and stop power generation by fuel cells.

Spindle Type
Power Back Door Drive Unit

Uses a spring in place of the conventional gas damper to give swing-up backdoors a sharp look.

Toyota SD Voice Navigation System for Japan

A car navigation system that supports Toyota's "T-Connect" telematics service.

Structural Adhesives

Adhesives for steel plates relax stress concentration to enhance fatigue resistance and body rigidity.
