OEKAKI (free-motion embroidering) sewing machine wins globally recognized Red Dot Design Award for the first time

The Aisin Seiki OEKAKI50 home-use sewing machine won a Red Dot Design Award in the Product Design competition at the 2015 Red Dot Awards hosted by German design institute Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen e.V..

The Red Dot Design Award is a highly prestigious honor, viewed as one of the world's top international design awards along with the Germany's "iF Design Award" and the America's "International Design Excellence Awards." Designs for products released within the past two years are assessed based on nine criteria, including degree of innovation, functionality, and ergonomics. In this year's competition there were 4,928 entries from 1,994 companies in 56 countries, and the Aisin Seiki OEKAKI50 home-use sewing machine was selected as one of the most outstanding, earning a Red Dot Award.
