Jul. 2, 2012

News Release

Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Aisin) and Hiji High-Tech Co., Ltd. (hereinafter, Hiji High-Tech) announced that both companies have agreed that Hiji High-Tech would transfer its own shares to Aisin. As a result, Aisin acquired 33.4% of the shares owned by Hiji High-Tech on June 29, 2012.

1. Reasons for transfer of shares

With the rapid progress in electronization and digitalization of the automobile in recent years and increasing use of in-vehicle semiconductors year after year, high performance and reliability are required of automobile parts. Price wars are also expected to further intensify in the future. In the midst of such an environment, Hiji High-Tech has decided to transfer its shares to Aisin, with the aim of product differentiation by making special functions integrated circuit-compatible, downsizing ECUs and sensors, and reducing costs. As a result of this transfer of shares, Aisin and Hiji High-Tech will be taking yet another step towards delivering products that satisfy customers around the world through custom-made IC design and strengthened production technologies.
