News Release

Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kariya City, Aich; President: Fumio Fujimori) bedding and sleeping-environment products brand ASLEEP will release the Aller-Cut Mattress, which protects sleepers from allergens such as those generated by mites and pollen, on March 1, 2013 as part of its J. Concept Series*1.

The designers of the new Aller-Cut Mattress turned their attention to mites, pollen and other allergen producers that trouble many people in Japan, creating a mattress cover treated with anti-allergenic material so as to minimize the effects of these allergens.
This material absorbs proteins generated by mites and pollen, preventing their spread and cutting allergen amounts by 90% or more*2. Like other J. Concept Series products, the mattress cover can be laundered and hung outdoors to dry, so there is no need for concern about hygiene as is sometimes the case with mattresses.

(SFF-JUX Aller-Cut Mattress)

*1 J. Concept is a series of bed mattresses that emphasize the hygiene, anti-bacterial, anti-odor and sleep comfort concerns of Japanese sleepers, based on the climate of Japan and intensive research of Japanese lifestyles and sleep habits.
*2 Based on a test in which fabric is coated in cedar pollen (protein: Cryj1), and cedar pollen (Cryj1 protein) amount is measured and then re-measured two hours later to gauge amount of reduction (Demonstrated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) performed by Aisin Seiki).
