President's New Year's Greeting (Summary)
Jan. 7, 2013
News Release
At 10:00 AM on Monday, January 7, the first business day of the new year, AISIN President Fumio Fujimori delivered a New Year's address to AISIN team members in the auditorium at the company's headquarters. The following is a summary of his remarks.
Thanks to your efforts last year, we were able to cope flexibly with drastic production volume fluctuations and implement steady profit structure improvements, and as a result we are looking at higher consolidated and non-consolidated income and profits for this period. However, our company is in a business environment that does not allow us to rest on our laurels even for a second. What's more, recent years have seen the global financial collapse, a massive earthquake and tsunami in Japan and disastrous floods in Thailand, and it seems that a series of major blows to business operations is becoming the new normal.
We are in need of a truly sturdy business structure that is not easily shaken, one that is capable of generating profits at all times and realizing sustainable growth even amid all kinds of adversity and change. Thus, this year I would like you to focus most of all on "maximizing the quality of service," the core principle of all our operations, and work together as one on thorough reinforcement of our foundations, so as to solidify the bedrock that underlies our business activities.
mountain of challenges still lie before us as we move toward realization of the AISIN Group VISION 2020, formulated last April with the goal of growing into "an irreplaceable global partner." To overcome these challenges one by one, every team member must cast aside past success stories and stereotyped ideas, look upon him or herself as a key actor in every situation, set priorities and act accordingly. In addition, I want to accelerate efforts to implement new concepts that extend across departmental lines so as to realize the VISION.
ICultivating global human resources has become a vital area of focus. The AISIN of the future must be an organization with youth and vitality, innovative ideas and keen awareness of issues, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in the environment. To all of you in supervisory positions, I ask that you dedicate yourselves to communicating workplace objectives clearly, creating rewarding environments conducive to concentration, and cultivating the next generation of human resources.
For AISIN to grow stronger, evolve, and realize our full potential, we need the efforts of each and every team member to erect a firm foundation that rivals or surpasses those of our competitors.
