AISIN CORPORATION has reached a basic agreement with LIXIL Corporation (Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Kinya Seto; hereinafter “LIXIL”) regarding the transfer of AISIN’s shower toilet business to LIXIL and will start concrete discussions.

AISIN and LIXIL^* established a collaborative system in the wake of the successful development of nozzles for shower toilets in 1976, and have since been engaged in joint development and production for about 50 years, leveraging the strengths of both companies.
In the course of our discussions on how best to strengthen the competitiveness of the said business, we have concluded that in order to accurately and promptly respond to a changing market environment and customer needs, it is necessary to review our past approach, in which the two companies collaborate while each taking their respective roles in development and production, and to shift to a more flexible and robust operating structure.

Subsequent to this agreement, LIXIL and AISIN will commence concrete discussions to transfer AISIN’s shower toilet business to LIXIL, including shower toilet seat development and production functions. This transfer is scheduled to be completed by the end of fiscal 2024, subject to determination of the operating structure, the conclusion of a business transfer agreement, and the completion of legal procedures.

AISIN will focus on key future growth areas such as electrification through the optimal allocation and utilization of resources across companies and Group companies, thereby continuing to achieve sustainable growth.
