Five companies in the Aisin Group* including Aisin Seiki will jointly show products and technologies of the Aisin Group under the three themes of "Improvement of Fuel Efficiency," "Security and Safety" and "Exciting Driving" at the "2012 Automotive Engineering Exposition" to be held at Pacifico Yokohama (Nishi-ku, Yokohama City) from May 23 (Wednesday) to 25 (Friday).

In the "Improvement of Fuel Efficiency" corner, the Aisin Group will introduce products and technologies such as "intermediate locking variable valve timing," which helps to the improve engine efficiency and clean emissions during restarts by expanding the changeable range of the opening and closing timing of the engine's inlet valve, and the "grille shutter" that not only controls air resistance by opening or closing the shutter in the front grille according to the vehicle speed but also helps to warm engine air by opening and closing the shutter according to the ambient temperature.

In the "Security and Safety" corner, the Aisin Group will introduce the cutting-edge technology of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) using a demonstration car, in addition to car navigation-related and brake-related products. The demonstration car will present monitoring technology with a camera that makes it easy for drivers to check around the car for people or bicycles so as to ensure safety. As technology for detecting driver condition and urging him or her to drive safely, visitors can experience "technology that can judge inattentive and drowsy driving."

In the "Exciting Driving" corner, the Aisin Group will introduce products that make "driving" exciting such as "transmissions (AT/MT)" for Toyota 86 and "door stabilizers" that enhance the rigidity of the car body and improve steering response.
