IMRA JAPAN Signs Joint Research Agreement with VNU-UET on Lead-Free Perovskite Solar Cells

11th May, 2026

IMRA JAPAN has signed a joint research agreement with the University of Engineering and Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-UET) on the development of lead-free perovskite solar cells.

This research aims to enhance energy conversion efficiency and reduce environmental impact, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.

IMRA JAPAN and VNU-UET have maintained a cooperative relationship since 2014, and this agreement represents a further expansion of their collaboration.

While perovskite solar cells are expected to achieve high efficiency, the presence of lead remains a key challenge. Through this joint research, both parties will work on the development of lead-free materials and aim to establish a technological foundation for practical applications.

In addition to research activities, the collaboration will also promote human resource development and academic exchange, further strengthening industry–academia partnership.
