Equipment and Die /Mold Making Processes

Basic Concept of Production

We manufacture machinery and die/mold in our engineering business, as an innovation leader in mono-zukuri.

1. Production flowchart
2. We supply high-quality machinery and equipment, and die/mold through verification by preliminary simulations and trials.
3. Product design
4. Product feasibility study
5. Machinery and die/mold
6. Machinery and die/mold data preparation
7. We study the production engineering requirements for the design of machinery and die/mold through concurrent design with customers.
A consistent production system from product design with 3-D solid data to preparation of machinery and die/mold data
8. Ultrahigh-speed and high-quality machining High-precision machining by 3-D direct milling
9. Product design and machining
10. Trial/mass production
11. 1. Shorter delivery time
12. 2. Examine with customers
13. 3. Consistent system

Die/Mold Making

Design

We have a consistent design system from part design to and die/mold data preparation by using 3-D solid design, including CAD and CAE technologies. This system allows us to have concurrent design with customers so that and die casting/molding production engineering requirements may be met and incorporated into products.

Machining and measurement

We prepare machining data according to the 3-D milling shape data, and we perform high-speed and high-quality machining with 3-D NC machines. In the machining process, cavity shapes and function areas are automatically measured according to the 3-D die milling shape data and die/mold drawings to obtain accurate dimensions.

Testing

In the final assembly process, we check the assembly dimensional accuracy and the functions of the die/mold. We also check the cooling performance of a die/mold with a thermograph for assurance. After a die/mold is completed, we conduct testing using in-house casting machines (500 to 3,500 tons) to check productivity and casting quality as well as to check the blank. In the blank dimensional measurement, we develop a measurement program from the blank drawing, and perform 3-D automatic measurement. We also evaluate acceptance of the blank to the specified standard.
