AICHI, Japan ー AISIN AI CO.,LTD.(President: Masahiro SUO) announced today that it has started production of the low and middle torque capacity 6-speed manual transmission unit for the front-wheel drive(FWD) TOYOTA new EU “Urban Cruiser”. The unit also has been provided for  EU Corolla and Auris.
While the length of the unit is 11% shorter, the torque capacity is 8% higher than the existing 6-speed unit. The new unit is manufactured at the same assembly line as the middle torque capacity 6-speed unit for the pursuit of the best efficiency of the equipment, manpower and space on manufacturing.

Achieved lightweight and compact size through an efficient case using CAE※,  2 pieces housing case and the removal of the shift-control cover.

Improved efficiency of torque convention through a minimizing the loss of churn oil.

Realized smooth shift feeling through the development of high precision shift structure.
(4）
Similar  design and same conception of the middle torque capacity 6-speed unit.
