| Aisin Takaoka Co., Ltd. |
Aisin Takaoka Co., Ltd. (President: Toshiyuki Ishikawa; Headquarters: Toyota, Aichi) will establish a new company, AT Kyushu Co., Ltd., in Nankan-machi, Tamana-gun, Kumamoto Prefecture, for manufacturing cast iron parts. In response to the favorable production plans of customers and business expansion both domestically and overseas in recent years, Aisin Takaoka is actively implementing plant restructuring and strengthening capacity at three domestic plants and 23 domestic/overseas consolidated subsidiaries. The Company is placing particular emphasis on strengthening production capacity of its mainstay iron casting business primarily at overseas bases. These measures are aimed at establishing a supply structure with a total capacity of 1 million tons annually for Japan and overseas in 2010. In order to establish a global supply structure as well as to diversify the risk of a higher concentration of manufacturing in Aichi, Aisin Takaoka will establish a new production company in Kumamoto where resources can be secured along with logistic advantages both in terms of environmental and cost aspects. The new company will carry out integrated manufacturing from casting to processing mainly of disc rotors for automobiles. AT Kyushu aims to become a top manufacturer in the material processing field in the Kyushu region, which is trusted by customers and the local community. Aisin Takaoka will continue to undertake efforts in further expanding its iron casting business as well as other businesses by improving its global supply structure in Japan, North America, China, ASEAN and other areas. An outline of the new production company is as follows.
