Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhito Yamauchi; Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi) has decided to establish a new company, Aisin Kyushu Casting Co., Ltd., located in Jonan-machi, Shimomashiki-gun, Kumamoto to produce engine components. As a means of promoting business development in Kyusyu region, Aisin Seiki established Aisin Kyushu Co., Ltd. (President: Hajime Kato; Headquarters: Jonan-machi, Shimomashiki-gun, Kumamoto) in 1993 and started manufacturing of body related parts. Then, it began manufacturing of engine related parts as well to handle the customers’ request to increase their production. Today, Aisin Kyusyu is serving as an important supply base for customers in the Kyushu region. At this time, to meet a significant expansion in orders from customers for engine components as well as strengthen domestic aluminum die casting production capacity, Aisin Seiki establishes the framework for carrying out integrated production at the new company. Consolidating the engine component production operations of Aisin Kyushu along with engine component production operations for the Kyushu region of Aisin Keikinzoku Co., Ltd. (President Sota Inoue; Headquarters: Imizu, Toyama) and Aisin Seiki’s Nishio Plant (Nishio, Aichi) within the new company, Aisin Seiki aims to increase production and procure ratios in the Kyushu region. The new company will be constructed on the same premises as Aisin Kyushu to enable integrated production from casting to processing and assembly of aluminum die casting products, including timing chain cases, oil pans and cylinder head covers, as well as from molding to assembly of resin type intake manifolds. The aluminum die casting business represents one of Aisin Seiki’s core businesses, whereby total aluminum die casting production volume, including Group companies in Japan and overseas, is expected to grow from approximately 330,000 tons in fiscal 2007 to around 440,000 tons in fiscal 2011. Accordingly, in line with the expansion of the aluminum die casting business, Aisin Seiki plans to strengthen the production capabilities at the Nishio Plant. The additional efforts to augment production capacity include the establishment of Aisin Hokkaido Co., Ltd. (President: Daisuke Kurihara; Headquarters: Tomakomai, Hokkaido) and the establishment at this time of Aisin Kyushu Casting, as a means of handling increasing production needs in Japan. Aisin Seiki aims to further expand its aluminum die casting business by further developing a global production structure that encompasses North America, Europe, China, ASEAN and other regions. An overview of the new company and production base is detailed below.
