Establishment of Company Specializing in Software Development for Embedded Systems (Jan. 31, 2007)

Aisin Engineering Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi, President: Ryoichi Kudo), Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhito Yamauchi; Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi) and Aisin AW Co., Ltd. (President: Takao Taniguchi, Headquarters: Anjo, Aichi) jointly announced that the companies have agreed on establishing Aisin Comcruise Co., Ltd., a company specializing in software development for embedded systems.

Software for embedded systems is developed exclusively for designated products. Recently, the importance of software used in products such as automotive control systems has increased in tandem with advancements in the systemization and integration of products, which in turn requires more advanced technology and higher reliability.

Up to now, Aisin Engineering Co., Ltd. and other entities have conducted the development of software for AISIN’s embedded systems. The new specialty company will be established independently in order to improve quality and strengthen technical capabilities, shorten development time, promote operational efficiency and carry out training and other processes systematically. Development bases also will be set up in Chubu, Kanto and Tohoku regions to enable the new company to conduct a wide-area search for high-caliber personnel with an avid interest in software development.

The AISIN Group is engaged in the development of high value-added system products that will delight customers through leveraging its wide range of products. In addition to strengthening its software development capabilities, the Group will accelerate development of unique system products by such measures as expanding its comprehensive system of evaluation.
