(June 6, 2006)

Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhito Yamauchi; Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi) has nearly completed relocation of its Nishio Body Components Plant (Nishio, Aichi Prefecture), which manufactures door handles, sunroofs, spoilers and other body components, to Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture, and commenced full-scale operation at the Kinuura Plant.

Along with relocating general business operations on May 8, AISIN has been consecutively relocating production facilities from April and completed the relocation of all door handle and sunroof production facilities at the end of May. In line with the move, Aisin has comprehensively promoted space savings, automation and other measures aimed at boosting production efficiency, whereby all coating lines were switched over to a space-saving “small-scale automated coating line” that also meets the demand for high quality and greater color variety of door handles. At the same time, coating room specifications were reexamined from the perspectives of dust control, electrostatic and preventing dust accumulation.

Additionally, environmental measures have been taken to address nearly 100% of requirements with regard to the plant’s overall air conditioning facilities by installing AISIN’s gas engine driven heat-pump (GHP) air-conditioner system in addition to installation of a state-of-the-art domestic wastewater treatment facility. The spoiler production facility is scheduled to be relocated hereafter, with the transfer of production operations to be completed by the end of December.
