Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd. (President: Yasuhito Yamauchi; Headquarters: Kariya, Aichi) will relocate its Nishio Body Components Plant (Nishio, Aichi Prefecture), which manufactures door handles, sunroofs and other body components, to Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture, and commence production of these components in April 2006 at its new Kinuura Plant. The Nishio Body Components Plant is situated in Nishio City, currently home to three AISIN plants that also include the Nishio Plant for engine related products and the Machinery & Equipment Plant for industrial machinery (molds, machinery production). However, the Nishio area has become too small to accommodate AISIN’s expanding business activities. Therefore, with the aim of responding to increased production by customers and reorganizing its production according to each business unit, AISIN will relocate the operations of the Nishio Body Components Plant to the new Kinuura Plant in Hekinan City, as it strives to strengthen its production structure. The Kinuura Plant will be situated adjacent to Aisin Sin’ei Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Hekinan City, Aichi Prefecture; president: Hiromitsu Fukui), an AISIN Group company that engages in the same production processes and manufactures similar products. The consolidation of operations in this manner will allow AISIN to reorganize these processes and improve its logistics, thereby enabling an expansion of rationalized business activities.
