AISIN Establishes New Company in China to Produce Auto Body Components (Dec. 17, 2004)

Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd., (Mr. Kanshiro Toyoda, president; headquarters in Kariya-city, Aichi, Japan) established a new joint company to produce auto body components with Elite Sewing Machine Mfg., Ltd., and Hsin Chong Machinery Works Co., Ltd., in Foshan City, Guangdong, China. The new company, Aisin Seiki Fushan Body Parts Co., Ltd., will start production in April 2006.

The new company will integrate production from plastic molding to the assembly stage of auto body components, including electric sliding sunroofs and the motor housing for power seats.

The new company is the third production base to follow Aisin Seiki Fushan Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., which produces engine parts, and Fengai (Guangzhou) Automotive Seat Parts Co., Ltd., which is a joint with Toyota Boshoku Corporation to produce car sheet components. We are now coming up to the final stage of creating a comprehensive delivery system in China, with 12 production bases (six in the northern part, three in the central part, and three in the southern part).

Aisin will expand the items of the local production to realize further sophisticated production and delivery structure.
