New
Electronic Components Manufacturing Company Established in North America
(June 9, 2004) |
|
Aisin Seiki established a new company to produce electronic components, to be
used to control products such as microcomputer-controlled sunroof in Marion, Illinois
in the United States. The new company, Aisin Electronics Illinois, LLC (AEIL)
will start production operations in June 2005.
Aisin has been manufacturing electronic components for North American automakers
at its Handa Electronic Plant and Aisin Electronics, Inc. (located in Stockton,
California, abbr: AEI). In order to flexibly respond to its growing customers
based in Midwest, Aisin decided to found another facility in Southern Illinois.
AEIL will manufacture electronic components to be used to body related system
products such as sunroof, power sliding door system, etc. AEIL will construct
its facilities on the premises of Aisin Mfg. Illinois, LLC (AMI), which produces
body related system products. This will enable to increase production efficiency
for the system products.
To achieve the overall goal of becoming a global supplier, Aisin Seiki, along
with the other AISIN Group companies, strives to move ahead with the establishment
of overseas production bases best suited to the characteristics of each major
region and the construction of an efficient production structure.
