New Engine Components Company Established in China (May 20, 2004)

Aisin Seiki Co., Ltd., (president: Mr. Kanshiro Toyoda; headquarters: Kariya-city, Aichi, Japan) established a new company to produce engine components such as crankcases and in Foshan, Guangdong, China, in response to expanding local production of Toyota and other customers. The new company, Aisin Seiki Foshan Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., (Aisin Seiki Foshan) will start production in August 2005.

Aisin-Hongda Zhejiang Automobile Parts Co., Ltd., (headquarters: Taizhou, Zhejiang Province) has been manufacturing engine parts in China. With the additional base for manufacturing engine parts in southern China, Aisin will be able to reinforce production capability and improve efficiency.

Aisin intends to expand its engine related components business in China and projects that sales for the new company will reach 116 million yuan in 2007.

To achieve the overall goal of becoming a global supplier, Aisin Seiki, along with the Aisin Group, strives to move ahead with the establishment of overseas production bases best suited to each major region and the construction of an efficient production structure.
